Peacemaker, Activist, Crusader, Liberator…titles deservingly earned and worn well by Daude. He has dedicated his life to helping his community and his people succeed and excel in this highly politicized world. Through his works and generosity, he has respectfully garnered the trust and adoration of those around him, and he has influenced change through his kind heart and good deeds around the world.

 

Co-organizer of the Watts Gang Truce and author of the 1992 Peace Treaty, Daude has been able to associate and collaborate with others who share his vision of black empowerment and community pride and unity; such as the former NFL Hall of Famer Jim Brown, former heavy weight boxing champion the late great Muhammad Ali, and Minister Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam.

 

Since age 6, Daude has been aware of his strengths and knew that he was more than ordinary. Intelligent, attentive, and firm on religion, Daude was very much aware that his life had meaning. Like every epic hero, he had to embrace his calling and face his challenge head on.

 

Very much sure of who he is, his capabilities, and the work that needs to be done, Daude was on the frontline working and involved in the creation of grassroots community-based organizations such as; Third Dynasty Egyptian Kings & Queens, Amer-I-Can, Hands Across Watts, B.O.S.S., Community Self-Determination Institute (CSDI), 100,000 Man March, Watts International JobLot, Watts Community Development Corporation (WCDC), and Build Plus Community Marketplace.

 

A man of great talent and a big heart, Daude is a Fellow of the California Wellness Foundation, honored with the Sankofa Peace Award (2002), and has received numerous Proclamations and Ambassadorships from Congress, the House of Representatives, State Assembly, and City accolades for his Peace work and Gang Intervention/Prevention programs.

 

Just reaching the prime of his life, Daude has more work to be done. Focused on bringing his people out of intellectual and financial poverty, Daude is strong on economic development and has partnered with major companies dedicated to investing in the future of the Watts community and its residents. Opening the doors to skills training, livable wages, entrepreneurship, and small business development, Daude foresees the advanced economic future of Watts as a prosperous one rich in history, culture, and community.
